From the Holy Quran:
- "He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begets not, nor is He begotten; and there is none like Him." (Chapter 112, Verse 1-4)
- "Say: 'He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Independent and Supreme; He begets not, nor is He begotten; and there is none like Him.'" (Chapter 112, Verse 1-4)
- "Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The parable of His light is as (if there were) a niche and within it a lamp, the lamp enclosed in glass. The glass as it were a brilliant star, lit from a blessed tree, an olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow forth (of itself) though no fire touched it. Light upon light! Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah sets forth parables for mankind, and Allah is All-Knower of everything." (Chapter 24, Verse 35)
- "Allah is He Who has created the heavens and the earth, and what is between them, in six days, and then He rose over the Throne. You have no protector or intercessor except Him. Will you not then be mindful?" (Chapter 10, Verse 3)
- "Say: 'To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth?' Say: 'To Allah.' Say: 'Have you then taken (for worship) protectors other than Allah, such as have no power either for good or for harm to themselves?' Say: 'Are the blind equal to those who see? Is darkness equal to light?' Or do they assign to Allah partners who created (anything) as He has created, so that the creation seemed to them similar? Say: 'Allah is the Creator of all things; and He is the One, the Supreme and Irresistible.'" (Chapter 13, Verse 16)
From the Sunnah (sayings and actions of Prophet Muhammad):
- "Whoever testifies that there is no god but Allah, alone without partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, that Jesus is His servant and messenger, and a word which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit created by Him, and that Paradise is true, and Hell is true, Allah will admit him into Paradise in accordance with his deeds." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)
- "The best of remembrance is 'There is no god but Allah,' and the best of supplication is 'Praise be to Allah.'" (Sahih Muslim)
- "Allah says: 'I am as My servant thinks I am. I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me in his heart, I remember him in My heart; and if he remembers Me in assembly, I remember him in an assembly better than his; and if he comes one span nearer to Me, I go a cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go a fathom nearer to him; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.'" (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)
