My ALS journey began when my father was diagnosed with the disease. It was a devastating blow to our family, as we watched him slowly lose control of his muscles and eventually become unable to speak or move. Throughout this journey, I have learned the importance of cherishing every moment with loved ones and never taking anything for granted. I have also learned the importance of raising awareness and funds for ALS research to hopefully one day find a cure for this devastating disease.

ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. It is a cruel and unforgiving disease that robs individuals of their ability to move, speak, and eventually breathe on their own. The importance of ALS lies in the urgent need for more research and funding to find a cure and improve the quality of life for those living with the disease.

Through my ALS journey, I have witnessed the incredible strength and resilience of those living with the disease, as well as their caregivers and loved ones. I have learned the importance of advocating for those who cannot speak for themselves and being a voice for those affected by ALS. It is a journey that has taught me the value of compassion, empathy, and the power of coming together as a community to support one another in times of need.
