Reproductive system of males and females

The reproductive system in males and females is responsible for producing and delivering gametes (sperm in males and eggs in females) for the purpose of reproduction.

In males, the reproductive system includes the testes, which produce sperm and the hormone testosterone, as well as the epididymis, vas deferens, seminal vesicles, prostate gland, and penis, which are involved in the storage and transportation of sperm. During sexual intercourse, sperm is ejaculated from the penis into the female reproductive tract, where it can fertilize an egg.

In females, the reproductive system includes the ovaries, which produce eggs and the hormones estrogen and progesterone, as well as the fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, and vagina. Each month, an egg is released from one of the ovaries and travels through the fallopian tube to the uterus. If the egg is fertilized by sperm, it implants in the lining of the uterus and develops into a fetus. If the egg is not fertilized, it is shed along with the uterine lining during menstruation.

Overall, the reproductive systems of males and females work together to ensure the continuation of the species through sexual reproduction.
