Nine steps to be followed at an egress and access point.

1. Check for any obstructions or hazards in the path of the egress and access point.
2. Ensure that the door or gate is functioning properly and can be easily opened in case of an emergency.
3. Keep the area well-lit and free of clutter to prevent tripping hazards.
4. Make sure that the area is easily accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities.
5. Clearly mark the egress and access point with signs or markings to indicate its location.
6. Keep the area clear of any vehicles or other obstacles that may block the path.
7. Have a designated meeting point outside of the egress and access point in case of an emergency evacuation.
8. Train employees or residents on the proper procedures to follow in case of an emergency evacuation.
9. Regularly inspect and maintain the egress and access point to ensure it remains safe and functional.
