Introduction
Good morning/afternoon church! Today, we are going to delve into a thought-provoking passage from Galatians chapter 6, verses 7 and 8. Let's read it together:
"Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life."
Body
This passage teaches us two important truths:
1. What we sow, we will reap.
God is like a cosmic gardener who watches over our lives. When we plant seeds of kindness, compassion, and integrity, we will reap a harvest of blessings and joy. However, if we sow seeds of selfishness, greed, and hatred, we will inevitably experience the consequences.
2. Sow to the Spirit, not the flesh.
The "flesh" represents our sinful nature, while the "Spirit" represents God's presence and power within us. When we sow to the flesh, we indulge in our selfish desires and worldly pursuits. But when we sow to the Spirit, we allow God's love and wisdom to guide our actions and choices.
Application for Trainee Pastors and Wives
As future spiritual leaders, we have a unique responsibility to sow seeds of righteousness in the lives of others. This means:
- Preaching and teaching the truth of God's Word.
- Modeling a Christ-like character and lifestyle.
- Encouraging and supporting others in their spiritual growth.
And as wives of pastors, you play a vital role in supporting your husbands and creating a home that is filled with love and grace. By sowing seeds of righteousness in your own lives and families, you will help to create a foundation for a strong and healthy church.
Conclusion
My dear brothers and sisters, let us all be mindful of the seeds we sow today. May we choose to sow seeds of righteousness, which will bring forth a harvest of joy, fulfillment, and eternal life. Let us remember that as we serve God and follow His ways, we are not mocked, but rather blessed with His grace and favor. Amen!
