Define stormwater?

Stormwater is rainwater that flows over the ground during a storm or heavy rainfall event. It can pick up pollutants such as oil, chemicals, and debris as it flows over surfaces like roads, parking lots, and rooftops, and can ultimately end up in rivers, lakes, and oceans if not properly managed.

Stormwater is water that originates during precipitation events and flows over land surfaces, collecting and transporting natural pollutants and contaminants in the process. Specifically, stormwater includes:

- Rainwater
- Snowmelt
- Surface runoff from impervious surfaces such as roofs, parking lots, and roads
