It had been four years since that fateful day when my dad came home with another woman in his arms. I still remember the shock and disbelief that washed over me as I watched them walk through the front door, their laughter filling the once familiar space of our home.

I couldn't understand how my dad, who had always been so devoted to my mom, could betray her in such a way. The woman he was with was young and beautiful, a stark contrast to my mom who had aged gracefully over the years.

As the days turned into weeks and the weeks turned into months, I watched as my parents' marriage crumbled before my eyes. My mom was devastated, heartbroken by the betrayal of the man she had loved for so long. And my dad, well, he seemed to have moved on without a care in the world.

I tried to make sense of it all, to understand why my dad had chosen to throw away everything we had for a fleeting moment of passion. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't find an answer that would ease the pain in my mom's eyes.
