Materials:
- 52-card standard deck of playing cards
- 2 or more players
Goal:
- To be the first player to get rid of all their cards.
Setup:
1. Distribute all the cards evenly among the players.
2. One player flips a card face up in the middle of the table to start the discard pile.
3. The remaining players hold their cards in their hands.
Gameplay:
1. The player to the left of the dealer goes first.
2. On your turn, you must match a card in your hand to the rank or suit of the card on top of the discard pile.
3. If you have a matching card, discard it on top of the pile.
4. If you do not have a matching card, draw a card from the draw pile.
5. If the card you draw matches the card on top of the discard pile, you can discard it immediately.
6. If the card you draw does not match, your turn ends.

Special Cards:
- Jokers: Can be played on any card and allow the player to change the current suit.
- 2s: Force the next player to draw two cards.
- Aces: Reverse the direction of play.
- 8s: Suspend the player's next turn.
Winning:
- The first player to get rid of all their cards wins the game.
Variations:
- No Draw: Players cannot draw cards from the draw pile.
- Russian: Players can only play a card that is one higher or one lower than the card on top of the discard pile.
- Crazy Eights: The number on an 8 card specifies how many cards the next player must draw.
