The Red Sea is believed to be named after the seasonal blooms of red-colored algae called Trichodesmium erythraeum, which give the sea a reddish appearance. The name "Red Sea" is derived from the Greek word "Erythra Thalassa," which means "Red Sea."
On the other hand, the Yellow Sea is named after the yellowish-brown silt that flows into the sea from the numerous rivers that drain into it. The sediment-rich waters give the sea a yellowish hue, hence the name "Yellow Sea."
