What's IGAD?

IGAD stands for the Intergovernmental Authority on Development. It is an eight-country trade bloc in Africa that was established in 1996 to promote regional cooperation and integration among its member states. The member countries of IGAD are Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, and Uganda. The organization focuses on issues such as peace and security, economic development, and environmental sustainability in the region.
