What's ECOWAS?

ECOWAS stands for the Economic Community of West African States. It is a regional economic union of fifteen countries located in West Africa. The organization was established to promote economic integration and cooperation among its member states, with the goal of creating a single market and currency for the region. ECOWAS also works to promote peace and stability in West Africa through political and security cooperation.
