The Tista River originates in the Indian state of Sikkim and flows through the Indian states of West Bengal and Bihar before entering Bangladesh. In India, it passes through the towns of Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, and Siliguri. After crossing the India-Bangladesh border, the river continues its course through the districts of Rangpur, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Gaibandha, and Kurigram in Bangladesh. It eventually merges with the Brahmaputra River near the town of Chilmari in Bangladesh.
