What is Algor in pathology?

Algor mortis is the postmortem cooling of the body after death. It is one of the signs used by forensic pathologists to estimate the time of death. The body temperature drops at a fairly predictable rate after death, with an average decrease of about 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit per hour until the body reaches room temperature.
