What happened to Abul Khaizuran in the novel Men in the Sun?

In the novel "Men in the Sun" by Ghassan Kanafani, Abul Khaizuran is one of the three main characters who are trying to escape from their difficult lives in Iraq by smuggling themselves in a water tanker truck to Kuwait.
