After the death of Prince Muazzam, his son Prince Azam Shah succeeded him as the Mughal Emperor. Azam Shah's reign was marked by internal conflicts and power struggles within the Mughal court. Eventually, Azam Shah was defeated by his brother Prince Muazzam (later Emperor Bahadur Shah I) in a battle for the throne. Bahadur Shah I became the Mughal Emperor and ruled until his death in 1712.
