What are xylem ?

Xylem is a type of vascular tissue in plants that is responsible for transporting water and nutrients from the roots to the rest of the plant. It is made up of specialized cells called tracheids and vessel elements, which are arranged in tubes that run throughout the plant. Xylem also provides structural support to the plant.
