Power to summon offender to hear sentence

(1) When the offender, who has been convicted of an offence under this Code or under any other law, appears or is brought before the Court in execution of the conviction, and the Court considers that no sufficient cause has been shown why sentence should not be pronounced, it shall, subject to the provisions of section 360, proceed to pass sentence on him according to law.

(2) If the offender, after conviction, absconds or fails to appear for sentence, the Court may issue a warrant to compel his appearance.
