Hello preschoolers! Today, we are going to learn about some fun and interesting things that we can find in nature. We have water, sand, leaves, rock, paper, and wood. Let's see what happens when we put them on top of the water.
First, let's start with the water. Water is a liquid that we use for drinking, bathing, and playing. When we pour water into a container, it fills up the space and takes the shape of the container.
Next, let's add some sand on top of the water. Sand is made up of tiny grains of rocks and minerals. When we sprinkle sand on the water, it sinks to the bottom because it is heavier than water.
Now, let's place some leaves on top of the water. Leaves are part of plants and trees. When we gently place leaves on the water, they float on the surface because they are light and have air pockets that help them stay afloat.
Let's add a rock on top of the water. Rocks are solid and heavy objects found in nature. When we drop a rock into the water, it sinks to the bottom because it is denser than water.
Now, let's place a piece of paper on top of the water. Paper is made from trees and is lightweight. When we place paper on the water, it floats on the surface because it is less dense than water.
Lastly, let's add a piece of wood on top of the water. Wood comes from trees and is a solid material. When we place wood on the water, it floats because it is less dense than water.
So, as we can see, different objects behave differently when placed on top of the water. Water, sand, leaves, rock, paper, and wood all interact with each other in unique ways. Nature is full of wonders and surprises! Thank you for learning with me today, preschoolers!
