Origin of birds?

Birds are believed to have evolved from theropod dinosaurs during the Mesozoic Era, specifically during the Jurassic Period around 150 million years ago. The earliest known bird-like dinosaur is Archaeopteryx, which lived around 150 million years ago in what is now Germany. Over time, these early bird-like dinosaurs evolved into the diverse group of birds that we see today.
