Job Title: Full-Time Church Caretaker

Summary:
The Full-Time Church Caretaker is responsible for maintaining the church's physical environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of visitors and staff, and providing general administrative support. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and reliable individual with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for serving the church community.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance:
- Clean and maintain the church building, including floors, windows, bathrooms, and common areas
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaks, and painting
- Ensure the proper functioning of all utilities, equipment, and appliances
- Monitor the security systems and report any suspicious activity
- Prepare the church for special events and services
Safety and Security:
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure the well-being of visitors and staff
- Greet and assist visitors, providing directions and information
- Monitor parking areas and control access to the church building
- Report any accidents, injuries, or hazardous conditions to the appropriate authorities
Administrative Support:
- Answer phones and assist with inquires
- Provide customer service and support to church members and the community
- Manage the church's inventory and supplies
- Assist with the planning and preparation of church events and programs
- Maintain records and files, including meeting minutes, attendance logs, and financial statements
Other Responsibilities:
- Maintain a tidy and organized work area
- Participate in staff meetings and provide input on operational matters
- Stay updated with church policies and procedures
- Serve as a representative of the church in the community
- Demonstrate a positive and professional demeanor at all times
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for cleanliness
- Basic knowledge of building systems and equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Friendly, approachable, and has a genuine passion for serving others
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
