How to tell if my dog is a work line, show line, or pet line?
I have a Labrador mix and I'm unsure what type of line she is. She is friendly and gets along with other dogs pretty well. She loves people. She has a lot of energy but she is calm most of the time. When trying to train her, she tends to understand it then forget it or not listen even if that's all we have been doing. She likes to play tug and she likes to go fetch the ball but not bring it back. I'm not sure what else will help to see what type of line she is. We think she is mixed with Cane Corso.

There are a few ways to determine if your dog is from a work line, show line, or pet line:
1. Physical appearance: Dogs from work lines are typically bred for their working abilities, so they may have a more athletic build, sharper features, and a higher energy level. Show line dogs are bred for conformation and may have a more exaggerated appearance, such as a larger head or coat. Pet line dogs are bred for companionship and may have a more moderate appearance.
2. Pedigree: Look at your dog's pedigree to see if they come from a line of working, show, or pet dogs. Dogs with a long line of working titles in their pedigree are likely from a work line, while dogs with a long line of show titles are likely from a show line. Dogs with a mix of both may be from a pet line.
3. Behavior: Dogs from work lines may exhibit high energy levels, strong drive, and a desire to work. Show line dogs may have a more laid-back temperament and be more focused on appearance. Pet line dogs may be more relaxed and easygoing.
4. Breeder: If you got your dog from a breeder, ask them about the breeding goals and priorities of their program. A breeder who focuses on working abilities is likely breeding work line dogs, while a breeder who focuses on conformation is likely breeding show line dogs. A breeder who prioritizes temperament and companionship may be breeding pet line dogs.
Ultimately, the best way to determine if your dog is from a work line, show line, or pet line is to consider a combination of their physical appearance, pedigree, behavior, and the breeding goals of their breeder.
