Extrinsic motivation?

Extrinsic motivation refers to the drive to achieve a goal or complete a task that comes from external factors, such as rewards, praise, or punishment. This type of motivation is based on seeking external rewards or avoiding negative consequences, rather than being driven by internal desires or values. Examples of extrinsic motivation include receiving a bonus for meeting a sales target, earning a good grade in school to please parents or teachers, or avoiding a fine for breaking a rule.
