The Hydrological cycle is the process that water undergoes as it circulates from the land to the atmosphere and back again.

This interchange of water takes place in water bodies land and plants.It has several importances as follows:

        1.Precipitation:
It occurs in form of rain from the clouds to the earth surface.Water from precipitation,aid in growth of plants and animals.

-Water is essential for recreational purposes,e.g water surfing.
-It is crucial for domestic purposes like washing and cooking.
        
        2. It regulates the amount of latent heat passing through the atmosphere to the earth surface.The atmosphere contains water vapour which absorbs heat.

        3. Some of the precipitation,percolates and infiltrates to the underground leading to Formation of underground water. Underground water gets trapped between soil and impermeable rocks forming acquifers.

       4 . Increases the level of humidity in the atmosphere. The water content in the atmosphere is high and this has diverse effects on the surface of the earth.
