Aims of the East African Community (EAC) as per Article Two of the Treaty for the Establishment of the East African Community

Harmonize customs and excise duties to facilitate trade and remove trade barriers.

7. Facilitate infrastructure development:
Coordinate infrastructure projects in transportation, energy, and telecommunications to improve connectivity.

Improve education, healthcare, and employment opportunities to enhance the well-being of citizens.
10. Promote gender equality and equity:
