Blastulation in chick?

Blastulation in chick refers to the process by which a fertilized chicken egg undergoes cell division and differentiation to form a blastula, which is the early stage of embryonic development.

After fertilization, the zygote undergoes a series of cell divisions called cleavage. These divisions result in the formation of a hollow ball of cells called a blastula. In the chick, blastulation occurs within the first 24 hours of development.

During blastulation, the zygote divides into smaller cells called blastomeres. These blastomeres continue to divide rapidly through a process called mitosis. As the blastomeres divide, a fluid-filled cavity called the blastocoel forms in the center of the blastula.

The blastula consists of an outer layer of cells called the blastoderm and an inner cell mass called the blastodisc. The blastoderm will eventually give rise to the extraembryonic membranes, while the blastodisc will develop into the embryo itself.

Blastulation is a crucial step in embryonic development as it establishes the basic structure of the embryo and sets the stage for further differentiation and organ formation.
