1. Pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH): Mild hypertension without proteinuria. 2. Chronic hypertension with superimposed pre-eclampsia: Hypertension and proteinuria that were present before the 20th week of gestation or persistent for more than 12 weeks postpartum. 3. HELLP syndrome (hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, low platelets): A severe form of pre-eclampsia characterized by hemolytic anemia, elevated liver enzymes, and thrombocytopenia. 4. Sepsis: A life-threatening infection with systemic inflammatory response syndrome. 5. Meningitis: Inflammation of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord.
